what’s the options for gyms with pools around and prices? Live near clonailla so ideally not to far away

Does Ben Dunne still have a pool?

What about where total fitness used to be?

Castleknock hotel is a bad pool if you want to swim lengths so not an option

How much is Westwood, they don’t advertise their prices at all that I can see

I got the below from Westwood not long ago, far too expensive in my opinion

                                                                                                                                  - Sat/Sun 8am - 9pm

    Off Peak Adult Membership- €69 a month - Access hours - Mon - Fri 6am - 4pm

                                                                                                                                  - Sat/Sun 8am - 9pm

What about the sports campus? I think it's about €600 gym and pool. I was a member before COVID. Not a big gym goer, I used the pool daily instead, and that's obviously top notch.

was in Westwood years ago when they were crunch. It was the best going and nearest but yea they are expensive. As for joining fee…… f that!

Been in the pool lots up in NAC when kids were learning. Deffo an option. Do they do classes

Yeah, I doubt anyone pays it. I emailed at 5pm one evening, got the hard sell... Sign up before close of business and they'd waive the joining fee. No thanks.

Sports Campus have fitness classes and I think they're included in the initial fee. They used to give a handful of tickets for the kids aquatic center as well when you joined, not sure if they still do but handy if you have kids.

Posting here makes me want to rejoin... 😂

Is Coolmine Sports an option for you?

If you can get them to waive the ridiculous joining fee and you think you’ll use the gym and pool frequently I would recommend it. I’ve been a member for years and would highly recommend it. Tried to leave and go to Flyefit or Coolmine in the past but kept going back to Westmanstown!

Even without the joining fee, €1100 a year is nuts in my opinion.

Pools are very expensive to keep running for the small % of gym members who use them.

It's the reason Ben Dunne removed pool in Blanchardstown & part of reason Jackie Skelly fitness went bust. Plenty of gym business using the gym floor space in now Junction 6 but no-one wanted the pool. Now a kids play space.

Total fitness closed down at the peak of the recession. It not like they closed the pool first or anything. It was always busy.

Ben Dunne was trying to copy a different discount model gym when he closed his.

    Then Covid killed it.

But you have new pool on the Navan Road and in Finglas, Westminstown, and NAC.

    Coolmine is the cheapest.

In total fitness case, it was a case of a new takeover getting the UK owner out of a hole and refusing to take on their Irish arm. Was never gonna happen given the property price and cost of expenses here.

This is happened more often sadly , most notable Argos and Debenhams
