Barmbrack & mixed spice recipes?

Hi,

I wish to make barmbrack for a family of 5 people in Germany. However looking at some recipes online & from an old cookbook, I find myself a little confused about some of the recommended ingredients that are best to use.

Some mention whiskey (as shown in Donal Skehan's recipe), stout, tepid milk, mixed peel or only sultanas+raisins, some mention currants, treacle, creamed yeast (sugar+flour+yeast) lemon+orange zest.

I find the ingredients list for mixed spice to vary in different recipes online, I may have to make my own blend. I'm not sure if I will find an appopriate jar of mixed spice in Germany.

What would be the best list of ingredients to choose to make barmbrack, and also ingredients for the mixed spice?

I like this recipe and its very simple. I substitute for cinnamon for the mixed spice and this works very well,.

I wouldnt bother with the yeast based recipe, the tea brack is what we always made and is very traditional. You can get away with any combination of sultanas and currants,

The recipe I've used would be pretty similar to this. When you soak the fruit in tea, the smell really reminds me of barmbrack so I think that's a key element
