    This is bizarre!

The Sunday Times is reporting that an Irish politician, currently a "member of the country's parliament" (so it could be a TD or a Senator) was recruited b Russian intelligence to disrupt Brexit negotiations between Ireland, the UK and the EU at sensitive times during the process.

The story says no money changed hands and the miscreant was being blackmailed to co-operate given that "sensitive" audio and video recordings exist of him in flagrante. Therefore, although the Gardai were aware of some of his activities, no laws between consenting adults were broken.

I know we can't speculate on this board as to the identity of the egomaniac but running through a few of the possibilites in one's head is just hilarious.

Story is here but it may be behind a paywall.
