Fair well to the longest standing NATO secretary general, as we usher in a new era:

Often times in leadership and political affairs, it's the loudmouths and grand-standers that get the majority of headlines and accolades.

However, not infrequently it can be those that are a part of the administration, quietly working in the background that do the real heavy lifting, and negotiate the genuine complexities.

For the last 10 years, a political leader of the most powerful contemporary military alliance, has applied exceptional skill and diplomatic prowess at ensuring unity, cohesion and co-operation between the vast diversity of cultures operating within NATO.

And there's little doubt, Ireland and the UK have a somewhat unbecoming political history, but in modern times being one of the foremost NATO states, it's under their auspices that Ireland can by and large enjoy the luxury of NATO protection, whilst not having to commit to the onerous financial obligation that membership stipulates.

Point being, it requires exceptional political and negotiation expertise to accomplish and maintain what NATO represents, and the longest presiding secretary general has ensured that under extremely trying circumstances for just over one decade now.

Can't mince words, it's been a pleasure and inspiration to watch the guy work.

Moving in to fill this position, former Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte, who IMO is the most adept possible successor and we'll see great things from him too.

    ……..

I'm just saying, often times daily freedom and liberty, they're things we can assume are a given.

Reality is, enjoying such luxuries require consistent hard work and commitment.

Given the exposure this critical change of leadership got on Irish media, again it's probably fair to say this is one of those positions that operates more so in the background.

But in any case, a great outro to one of the foremost (yet little known) great leaders of our time.

And hopefully another successful 10 years under the values and experience of Mark Rutte.

    Wow.

    Where's the love?

    ……….

Who's doing the heavy lifting in the background of Irish leadership network?

    It's definitely not McEntee anyhow.

See, I was watching an interview with a former CIA officer who was explaining the concepts affecting genuine change, how government policy is modified and national and historic strategies are refashioned.

He was basically echoing the above sentiments, but in CIA code it went more so to the effect of "infiltrate"……… then "exert influence".

i.e. true effective strategy is not attention, media or lime-light horing, constantly front and center, like McEntee compulsively engages in.

    The approach is more…………….. insidious.

And when dealing with the masses, angry mobs, violent sub-cultures, and skewed and primitive thought frameworks, to really exert change, a more cognitively heavy strategy is obviously preferrable.
