EEPROM rescue request

    Hi - can anyone advise me where I could get an EEPROM reprogrammed? I had a failed BIOS update on an old PC and now it's a brick. The EEPROM is a PLCC-32 package and I made a copy of the contents before I started. I'm in North Fingal.

    How old is the PC though? It may have some recovery mechanisms available.

    The PC is from mid 2000's - it's supposed to detect a corrupt BIOS and enter into recovery mode, but that doesn't happen.

    I had a motherboard similar go bad - on mine it was a button you press to recover the default bios flash - on yours it appears it should let you restore it from a bootable cd…

    You might need to clear the CMOS also for this to boot this far - by removing the battery...

    Thanks Ozmo, I tried what you suggest but the MB will not boot any device or enter the recovery mode. I’m hoping reprogramming the EEPROM externally will fix it.
