Belated start. Too many late night Met games.

    Anyway,

    Houston surprisingly eliminated.

    Atlanta eliminated.

    Baltimore eliminated.

    Brewers ELIMINATED.

    Mets @ Phillies

    Padres @ Dodgers

    KC @ Yankees

    Tigers @ Cleveland

Enjoying the NLDS so far - a couple of highly eventful Mets-Phillies games followed by a relatively straightforward Mets win last night behind a gem from Manaea. Fancy the Mets to seal the deal this evening, especially if they can keep Harper quiet again as he seems to be such a talisman for Philadelphia

San Diego and LA then seem to have lots of needle from the bits i've seen. Two pretty stacked line ups with Tatis in particular coming up big for the Padres

Not really seen anything of ALDS but clearly all to play for in both games - the stat was doing the rounds yesterday that it was the first time all four divisional series had gone to 1-1

The Mets lineup depth is really impressive this postseason. Iglesias was in the minors at the start of the season, Vientos as well and are huge contributors down the stretch. Winker was a brilliant pickup in hindsight.

Today's elimination games will be gas. I expect both teams will play as if there's no tomorrow, I doubt the Mets want to go back to Philadelphia. Likewise, San Diego/LA. Getting Tatis back for San Diego has been huge for them.

Well, bring on the winner of Padres/Dodgers. Going to be a wild one in LA. And the Mets are keeping me hoarse. Might be Mets/Padres, recent history in 2022 should add extra spice.

Likewise, the Tigers are damned impressive. Been a great set of series, lots of road wins, clutch moments.

Yankees off to the WS, seem to be peaking at the perfect time both offense and defense.

Mets/Dodgers still at it. Excellent series, lots of momentum shifts and dramatic moments.

Cleveland, as seems their wont, didn't put up all that much opposition to the Yankees. Seems like Yankees have owned Cleveland for a very long time.

Let's go Dodgers. After a tough series against the Padres, the Mets were much more straightforward.

Not sure what to expect from the Yankees. I don't really rate them, but they are in the World Series.

    Dodgers in 5

I can see the Dodgers readily beating the Yankees. Dodgers are loaded. I think the Yankees get 2 like the Mets did. Dodgers in 6

This one might end sooner than I think, though no Ohtani for the games in NY might help the Yankees cause.

    Dodger pitching continues to impress.

Where is everyone watching this? TNT? Are there any legit USTV iptv streams?

Sorry to see the Mets run out of gas, subway series would have been interesting. Dodgers seem to have all the momentum at the moment but that's what's great about baseball, things change quickly. Although not always quickly enough. Gwan the Yanks.

Fair play to the Dodgers, last game was exciting but they were too much for the Yankees. Now, on to the postseason!

Pitchers and catchers report in 103 days.

Thank god it's over. I'll get a full night sleep again tonight :D

Absolutely delighted the Dodgers won. They never felt in control last night. I thought the top of the majority of innings, went by in no time, where as the bottom's felt like they would never end.

Maybe it was just the stress of watching it all.

Anyway, interested to see where Soto ends up. I predict the Mets

Just got quoted as saying he'll listen to every team. Mets can afford him, Marte's contract is over, but they have a big decision re: Alonso, he'll be hard to replace.

Lots of teams facing busy offseasons, I expect some eyewatering contracts coming out.

TBF this was one of the most enjoyable postseasons I've watched in a long time - not just due to the Mets. Who expected the Tigers to go so far? The Dodgers/Padres series was great, too. KC was very surprising, didn't expect them to get past Baltimore but they did. MLB's got a good thing now, so much parity so teams lousy one year can make a leap the following year. Though, three out of the four last teams in the playoffs had budgets in excess of $300m/year. That's crazy.

From a selfish point of view, I see Dodgers advantages quickly fading away. More teams are going big. More parity should be coming

In the NL, you have the Mets, Phillies, Braves, Dodgers and Padres with superstars. I could also see the Cubs and Giants following suit.

In the AL, you only really have the Yankees right now. The Rangers tried, and Baltimore have a great group of players, and Kansas and Cleveland are both well stocked with cheaper good players. There is no reason for the Red Sox, or Blue Jays not to go big also

There should be some penalties if you have one of the lowest payrolls, and you finish near the bottom of the league.

I wouldn't tie the performance&payroll to a penalty, they're not causative (see: Angels with the big names and no results), but something should be done to keep the likes of Pittsburgh viable, always near the bottom in both. Oakland at least (to my great regret) is moving and should be able to up their payroll, but it's a franchise that occasionally does remarkably well despite payroll.

The mid-tier near miss teams with payroll flexibility, like Seattle who I followed very closely for 10 years when I lived there, might be in the hunt more this offseason, as will be the likes of Boston in that brutal division.

Thats why I think it needs to be a combination of payroll and performance

Teams like Baltimore and the Rays, who I believe have low payrolls, and are competitive dont deserve to be punished

Teams like the Angels with a large payroll, but aren't competitive, shouldn't be punished either. You can't say they're not trying, just that they dont know how to try :D

It's teams who dont seem to be trying to be competitive, and aren't spending money should be punished
