    Has anyone used the road from the L1113 heading towards Greenking composting to avoid Wicklow town and head straight to Rathnew. It looks like there is a way through although there are gates which could be closed.

    Hi - Yes i am in Rathnew and I'd use that road fairly regularly. The gate at Greenking end can be closed evenings/weekends but not every had any issues hopping the gate. There are maybe 2 other gates on the road but they are usually left open, and if not they are never locked or again you can hop over them also. Have passed a farmer on tractor a few times over the summer on the road an always just get a wave so don't think there is any issue using it. The surface is 90% ok tarmac, with a short bad tarmac section.
