Stuff that is cheap in India

I may be traveling to New Delhi later in the year for work. Will only be there for a couple of days. I’ll have a large luggage weight allowance with relatively little to bring.

Is there particular stuff there that is worth bringing back?

Pashminas are very plentiful and you can bargain a lot on the price ….some very colourful ones available at great prices.

Ceramic elephants, candle holders and lanterns are very good value too and a bit unusual in their design.

Gold jewellery and physical gold, a workmate used to stock up when heading home.

Expect the Marigolds at DUB if bringing back souvenirs that have cavities. 😱🙄

My company has an office in Surat, its the "diamond" capital of india, ive picked up a few gifts for the wife that would be stupidly expensive here.
You can also now fly direct from Surat to Dubai if youre coming home via emirates.

I went in to a store on MG Road in Bangalore maybe 20 years ago and tried to bargain on a few Pashminas as gifts.

It became obvious that this was a store where the wealthy shop and haggling would not be entertained. I still bought three of them but cheap they were not.
