Hi, my burner is kaput. I'm looking at changing the burner. Should I go for the same or is there a better alternative that will slot into its place and be more efficient?

The burner is from 1975 ish. It sounds like it needs bled bit doesn't and just keeps going like that with the same sound but not cutting out like it would if it did need bled.

I have cleaned the two spark probes and wiped the nozzle, maybe I should change the nozzle first?

But of there is a more efficient alternative I wouldn't mind changing the burner.

    Any input is welcome.

    Thanks.

You might get away with just changing the control box (buy the one complete with photocell).

If it's there since 1975 that's some service, it's due a break😊 Fit a new one should cost roughly €340 + fitting While you're at it give the boiler a good clean.

Hi All, Once I opened the panels and removed the burner I can see a small leak on the drain valve. i have tried to plug it but water is still coming out. any tips to fix this. looking at it i can imagine it all falling apart if I try to remove the valve and replace it. would I just be as well getting my hands on a new boiler altogether? I'm after buying a new replacement burner could this be used on a condensing boiler if I replaced it? what are my best options here?

    Thanks

Is that an old Buderus? Be careful with it, some of them had what looks like asbestos insulation.

Really best to change the boiler
