VW Touareg

Just sold my Jimny, currently in an 06 pathfinder for the time being, and looking to buy something up in the years. Has to have 4x4, be decent in rough terrain and relatively comfortable on road.

A landrover discovery 3/4 would be the perfect vehicle for me, comfortable to drive and super off road. But they are plagued with reliability issues. Toyota landcruisers another option, but very little choice for sale that's not ridiculously expensive or heavily farmed.

I was thinking of the Touareg, 2015-2017 model years. I know they are more capable than the X5 and similar big SUV's with 4x4, but I am a bit concerned with the 3.0 V6 diesel engine. Reliability appears to be very hit and miss with issues such as injector seals, oil and coolant leaks, timing chains etc. Any owners or previous owners on here with info on the car?
