Private maternity care with limited insurance

    Hi all

I experienced a pretty traumatic loss earlier this year and am keen to go privately for my current pregnancy in Holles st. I know the consultants fees and room costs etc. does anyone know if the costs associated with birth on hospital websites are accurate?

My insurance has limited maternity benefit of 400 euro towards hospital costs unless there are medically necessary treatments (i.e. c section, in patient care for illness during pregnancy). Essentially from what I gather I only need to pay accommodation and straightforward birth costs above the 400.

Has anyone had experience with this type of insurance? And what were the costs like at the end. Most threads on here everyone has full insurance, it just wasn't on my radar to start a family until the start of this year and didn't think they separated hospital care for maternity.
