    Hi guys,

I have been on the look out for large TV for going into my new house. The 77" oled range (all brands) has been on my radar among other larger mini-led tvs.

Would you have any indication if the 77" 908 might get a similar sale price? As the 65 is a great sale, but just far to small.

Additionally, I will be looking at a subwoofer, the sb1000 pro has my eye atm, but haven't really noticed anything else on par for a similar price.

    Thanks,

    Graham.

    Hey Graham.Pentony.

    Many thanks for the post.

We had got a limited stock deal from our supplier on the ones listed above which allowed us to pass on the great saving to our customers.

The 77OLED908 is also reduced at the moment.
The 77OLED908 is currently priced at a VIP price of £3499 (Non VIP price is £4199)
    https://www.richersounds.com/philips-77oled908/

On our .ie site it just shows the reduced price
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-207466-philips-77oled908-77-inch-oled-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-tv.aspx?swapstore=1

Our sterling is the better deal on the 77OLED908 at the moment.

The SVS range of subwoofers are fantastic and nothing really touches them at the moment.
The SB1000 is currently priced at £479 / €599 (Again the sterling is the better deal on this).

    Thanks for the quick response.

That's fair enough, I will continue the hunt for now. Will get back to you if I see something that potentially fits the bill.

    Appreciate the time.

Hi Kenny, I’d be very interested in the 48 inch version, is it possible to tell me the distance between the feet on the stand, I want to see if it’ll fit on my unit.

    thanks !

    Hey Etc.

Hope you have been keeping well.

The distance between the two legs would be 783mm.

Its a great deal on that Philips.

Hi Kenny, you've taken me down a rabbit hole here, can I ask how this compares with the 2024 LG C4 ? Thanks

    Hi Etc,

rather than me going on about it - check out the very recent What Hi-Fi piece about the OLED809 / LG C44 and Sony Bravia 8 here:

Just received the 48" Phillips during the week. I've got to say for £650, it's a hell of a lot of telly. Thanks for the heads up lads.

Really happy with it, picture is fantastic, sound is very good and the ambilights is a great feature.

One bit of advice to anyone considering purchasing, pay for it in euro. It's an even better deal. The Euro price is €749. I paid £656 sterling (including £7 delivery) and it converted as €799. My own fault for not checking.

    Hi Interlocked.

Many thanks for the online order :) They really are a fantastic television and a great deal!

That is a hefty conversion that your bank has charged on the sterling price.
You are always free to pay in whichever currency works out the cheapest.

if we can help in anyway in future please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Hi,i am interested in buying the Philips 48OLED708 Ambilight. Just a quick question, reading the reviews 9n amazon, one guy was disappointed as he said after 10 hours a screen cleaner kicks in,so you could be watching a movie or a match or whatever and this screen cleaner kicks in and you cant stop it,in fairness out of all the reviews this one guy is the only one that mentions it. Is this something you are aware of ?

    Regards,droidman

    Hi Droidman123.

This is not something I have came across and we have one on dispay here at the store.
From doing some reading up, it would seem that if the TV is on for 10 or more hours straight without getting switched off it will display a 10 hour warning which prompts for a "Now" or "later" selection. If you select later it goes away.
This is to help prevent the life of the OLED panel.

This feature is perfectly safe and equivalent to LG’s pixel refresh which runs for around 5-7 minutes after 4hrs of on time. It however should not interrupt current viewing regardless of run time...unless the Philips use a tracking process to predict when there are potential panel irregularities? I’m not sure, however I would let it run regardless. I would never attempt to disable such a feature on an oled tv. We need to be using all the protection manufacturers have in place to minimise the risks of burn-in.

Stock on the 48OLED708 at the current deal price has nearly all been sold. Once the current stock runs out it will go back to is normal pricing.

Unfortunately the issue with online is that you will always find someone not happy with every product out there, regardless of how good the product really is.

Hi, I am looking for something size wise 48-55" for around €750, is this Philips the one you would recommend?

  • Company Representative Posts: 4,581 ✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: DavidS

    Thanks for the post kc78,

The Philips 48OLED708 was an absolute bargain however we have sold out of the last of them I'm afraid and I don't know if we'll be getting another batch in at that price.

The next OLED up would be the Philips 48OLED808 which I have in stock but is currently 1169 euro.

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-207436-philips-48oled808-48-inch-oled-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-tv.aspx

We also have the Panasonic TX48MZ800 which is an OLED panel but not as high spec as the Philips so doesn't support VRR. It's on offer at 848 euro at the moment:

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-207470-panasonic-tx48mz800b-48-inch-oled-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-tv-freeview-play.aspx

Please don't hesitate to drop me an email if you'd like to go for either of these.

    Kind regards

    David
