Samsung TV Issue

    Hi everyone,

I purchased a Samsung QLED 55-inch TV back in 2020 at Harvey Normans and I’m confident I registered it for the 5-year warranty right after setting it up. Recently, I discovered an issue with the backlights. However, when I checked my online account, the TV wasn’t listed under my registered devices. Since I remember I registerd it, I did online search and found that many people have complained about the same that the registered devices are not showing up on their Samsung accounts.

I contacted Samsung, but they claim it was never registered. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? What are the chances of getting it repaired by Samsung?

    Thanks!

Just got back to Harvey Norman about it, ask them to repair, replace or refund it.
They will fob you off talking about warranty. If you get really lucky they may offer a depreciated refund as you have had use of it for 4 years, but odds are they will do nothing.

Then just log it with the small claims court, Harvey Norman will ignore it and you will get a cheque for the cost of your claim.

    That's usually how it goes.

There's no requirement to register to get a warranty.

if you can show it's a known manufacturing issue, then you have up to 6 years to claim a repair.

Make sure you bring details of other incidences similar to yours that you can find online as it's your responsibility to show it's a manufacturing issue.

Whilst legally the responsibility is with HN, dealing directly with Samsung might get a better and quicker resolution.
