Just wondering could anyone advise me on what style fridge to buy.

I don't shoot many so storage for one or two would be great.

Should I buy a bottle style fridge or one of those stainless steel catering fridges?

    Any pointers greatly appreciated 👍

I used a wine chiller fridge with a good circulation fan in the top. Like a drinks fridge. Showing a fallow buck in the fridge below.

Coke fridge just as good. Get the cheapest one you can find that still works

I use a double door drinks chiller, I can manage fairly large Fallow Bucks, but I don't believe I'd cope with a Red Stag, a Red Hind would be marginal. Works for me because I'm only shooting Sika and Fallow.

Fallow only for me lad. So basically a bottle fridge or wine fridge should do the trick? Does the meat take long to chill and what temperature do you set the thermostat to? 7 degrees or lower?

Can be done,if you quarter the carcass and have a strong enough support to hold the meat, but it is tight enough too in a double cooler.

Cool, thank you. How long do you normally hang in the chiller for?

2 weeks minimum, to let the enzymes do thier work on the meat. Also stops that gamey test and let's get tender. IMO.

Depending on the beast's age too. An old Stag or Hind will take longer than a yearling or calf.Somthing like that I'd hang for possibly 5 to 7 days .
