    Help…

I was taking some photos last week , and the viewing screen stopped working….

Then this week , the focus kept moving by itself continuously ( could hear it 'whirring' as it tried to focus)

    Its only 15-16 mths old…

I cleaned the lens prior to this happening , so there wasnt any dirt on the lens…

At that age you're probably within guarantee/warranty, bounce it back to the seller?

I know nothing about this camera, so can’t help with the specifics, but dirt on the electrical connectors between the body and lens can sometimes cause weird behaviour, so try cleaning both the lens and body electrical contacts with contact cleaner or methylated spirits and a cotton bud.
