How to fix a hole in the sink

Dropped something in the sink while cleaning and it created a hole. The rest of the crack is superficial. At least that is what it looks to me. The broken piece went inside and can't seem to get it out using vacuum cleaner. I am not in a position to replace the sink immediately. The hole is not leaking water. Looking for some DIY fixes. I am not fussy about the finish. Would an expanding foam spray for the cavity work? After that a porcelain paint or tech7 on it?

    All suggestions welcome.

Cut a patch of durable plastic larger than the hole and Tech 7 it down.

Beware, although the hole isn't leaking, that water is likely going into and staying in the cavity and will start to smell.
