Has anyone had this? What has your experience been like? What do you do to lessen your exposure to the sun?

Had one removed a few years ago on the side of my temple just above my right cheekbone. Removal was quick & relatively painless, was left with a couple of stitches that healed up nicely afterwards. Haven’t had any issues with it or reoccurrences since the removal.

I don’t treat the area it was removed from in any special way. If I’m somewhere that warrants using sun cream I’ll make sure it’s covered or I’d often wear a hat/baseball cap while on holidays abroad but like I said I don’t do anything special with the area.

In saying that it’s likely my carcinoma was caused by the 2 separate doses of radiotherapy I’ve had over the years for treating a benign brain tumour rather than exposure to sun. The radiotherapy doses were both applied through the area of my head where the carcinoma eventually grew.

I see. I had one removed recently and am just more aware of the damage the sun can do and try and limit exposure as much as possible. Caps long sleeves and SPF 50.

If you can keep it protected & covered do it, no harm in being careful! All the best 👍🏼
