Bonding/liquid Porcelain

recently had a check up, my teeth profile is good. However, my enamel on teeth is and has been gone years. Teeth don’t look healthy if you get me. I have discolouration I suppose with some fissure fractures to front. One tooth to front is dead, had a veneer put on it over 27 years now but food is getting in behind it so looking like a crown.

I asked dentist can anything be done with discolouration and did a quick example with liquid porcelain stuff. Said it will last 3-5 years. I don’t want to look as if I swallowed a torch with whiteness. Bottom teeth would get whitening treatment. Dentist could do 7 to front which included new crown where veneers was. Anyone any advice on this bonding or liquid porcelain treatment?

    thanks

I'm considering it too. My sister got it one and basically they use the stuff ued for white fillings. I would go for it if I were you. Mine look grey - so when I smile I look gummy !

got a quote though for a few veneers on top 5 teeth - 5k. thinking about that too.

Are you talking about composite bonding? If so, I got it done yesterday on my front teeth. Procedure was completed in a few minutes. No need for any anesthetic. Take time to read up on composite bonding first. The material isn't as hard as your natural teeth, so you need to be careful with them. I eat a lot of fruit, apples in particular, and the dentist suggested that I cut them instead of biting into them going forward, for example. Colour wise the bonding is a perfect match for my natural teeth. Have never had my teeth whitened.

not sure to be honest, dentist showed me a small bottle. Put layer on tooth and hey presto tooth looked brighter, fissure was gone. I assume it gets hit with violet ray to harden it up for a polish.

Yes, that is composite bonding. They harden the gel, which doesn't smell particularly pleasant, with the violet ray and shape and polish the tooth. Your teeth will feel strange for a day or two after you get it done.
