Has anyone tried "Loop" earplugs at a concert/festival?

Saw many people wearing these plugs at EP this year and was wondering what the verdict was. Just to cut down volume a bit.

I know the first statement is going to be "Why wear earplugs at a concert?" or "Just stand further back" and, at a standalone concert, I wouldn't normally wear plugs. But for festivals where you are moving around and maybe having more conversations than at a single concert, I think these could come in handy.

But yeah, anyone use them? Do they muffle the sound too much? Can you hear someone talk? Worth it?

I'm usually up the front at gigs, indoor and outdoor, and there's no way I wouldn't use earplugs. I use the well-regarded MusicSafePro ones, which are inexpensive: they're available online and probably in some larger music supply stores.

They reduce the highs and lows without any loss of clarity. The overall volume is reduced sufficiently, without any reduction in the impact of the sound itself: you're not going to feel you're having any less of an experience if you use them.

They also work wonders for deadening any unwelcome chat that might be going on around you during the show, and you go home without any buzzing in your ears.
