Car troubles with 2009 Ford Focus Zetec

    Hi,

Got Ford Focus towed to garage thinking it just needed a new clutch but Garage said that clutch, flywheel, brake pads, shock absorbers all need replacing and all has to be done at once so they can get at engine.

Anyway, they are quoting €1,650 including labour so starting to think the car might have gone past the point of no return.

Coincidentally I’m actually off the road until next July for medical reasons. So in a way I have time to consider my options.

Garage said they can scrap it for €235.

They also rang today wanted to know my decision as they need to take it off a ramp.

I also have funds to consider a newer model but prefer spending money on other items.

Also a friend said second market has very little value.

    So decisions, decisions.

Any recommendations or nuggets of wisdom?
