Holiday cancellation advice

hi anyone had experience needing to cancel a holiday with TUI (too late to postpone) and will lose the majority of holiday cost? Anyone actually instead find someone to buy the holiday and then pay transfer fee to TUI instead of paying all the holiday cost to cancel? thanks!!

To much faffing about- changing names/lead passenger etc .
When you say 'need' to cancel, is this something that would be covered by insurance?
