House owners BE WARNED!! - In choosing a contractor to do anything in or around your property DO NOT be fooled by someone advertising to be a member of National Guild of Master Craftsmen!!
THIS MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Many of their "members" are absolute chancers and some can even be dangerous to deal with! (I speak from experience!!).
You may end up having to resort to legal action or even needing Garda assistance as I did!!

From their reviews and online presence, it does not seem to be any sort of regulatory body, just a group it costs money to join.

Exactly!! But by advertising their membershiip, many so called "craftsmen" are misleading the public!
If there was any proper regulation of the cinstruction industry in Ireland they would be shut down!
