I have a lifetime supply of timber lengths to cut for logs.

Id like to buy a battery operated chainsaw mainly for the quietness as the normal petrol saws are so loud and this is o a long term garden project with neighbours each side of me

Can anyone recommend a saw? I'm 30 years using Husqvarna petrol saws

I've a Husqvarna 225i since January - very happy with it. Slowly moving all my garden tools to the battery operated - much more pleasant to use. The 225i has worked really well, long run time and battery charges quickly. My only complaint is the chain tensioning can be fiddly when the chain is new.

Power can be a bit lacking on battery chainsaws unless you are going very upmarket to 36V or higher batteries.

If you are working in the same spot each time and can get a power cable out there then I'd go for a mains powered saw where you can get a more powerful machine much more cheaply.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Not keen on cabled for safety.

I knew a millionaire builder who was trimming his garden hedge with a cabled trimmer and he was electrocuted and died instantly

Then get a 110V chainsaw and run it off a transformer.

Wake me up when it's all over.
