    I need help 😩

So i bought a jeep from Northern Ireland that was previously registered in the south. The jeep is 28 years old and was exported over 15 years ago so i doubt any VRT was claimed back. However in order to get the old plates back on the car i need to know the old reg number. I have called the tax office and the vrt office and was told they need to old reg number which I don’t have and the previous owner can’t remember it.

Is there anyway of finding the old reg number with just the chassis number ???????

I even tried cartell reports and a few other reports with no luck.

Long shots, maybe the original Irish importers with the chassis number - it might still appear on their warranty system or else DVLA Swansea with the NI reg

DVLA in the north may have the reg on file.

Is the last reg not on the V5 or whatever they use up there?

DVLA have no record and not on the logbook.

You could try the febi bilstein site - you can look up reg numbers from just the chassis number on it. More than likely that it has the updated NI reg to be honest though.

You could start with the manufacturers office here if the car was sold new in Ireland - or some dealers who might have serviced it.
