My Vodafone bill account ends in October. I don't want it rolling on I'm done with them so how do I tell them I'm leaving them? The useless app says nothing? And also I assume the phone is mine.

Go to the shop in the days before it ends

AFAIK they roll over into monthly bills but off the committed contract length. Visit a shop and find out is best bet. I wouldn't call them

If you don't cancel the contract they'll just do nothing and keep charging you the same monthly amount. You can either change onto a cheaper/sim only tariff with them, or find a new provider and port to them once you're past your contract end date. If you do that, they'll handle everything and you don't need to inform Vodafone of anything.

If you just cancel without anything else ready to go, you'll be left with no phone service.
