My 2 sons are in Australia and my daughter, wife and myself are hoping to all meet for a few weeks at Xmas. Rather than flying all

the way to Australia I am checking out some other possible destinations ""in between" here and Australia to gather at Xmas.

I would love to get any advice/recommendations on potential locations

I second Malaysia. Fly into either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, spend a few days in whichever city you land in. Then head to an island like Tioman. Singapore is a great city but you'll be to go over a border, which can take time, to get to Malaysia.
