Hi Lads, looking for a front and rear dash cam and saw that Halfords are doing them from various manufacturers plus €95 for installation.

I'm useless at electrics/electronics so just wondering if people can recommend Halfords for fitting these.

I don't mind paying the fee if it's a neat and tidy job but I've heard some horror stories regarding bike fittings etc so just looking for some recommendations on cameras plus installation.

Living in Galway and don't mind traveling to get it done.

    Thanks.

I bought a Nextbase dash-cam from Halfords in Limerick earlier this week.

Had it fitted by their installer Kev who did a fantastic job - front and rear cameras and not a cable to be seen. Very neat and tidy.

The complexity of the job really depends on where the fusebox is, how the car is clipped together, if you're looking for a rear view camera, and whether or not you want a parking mode.

Be careful of your installer running any cables along the roof, as its a real pain to properly avoid the side curtain airbags, which many installers just skip,

Having wired in both Nextbase and Viofo models, I'd take the Viofo every time.

Amazon option. Voucher takes it down to £28. I have this. Very simple and takes clear video. It was recommended in the Amazon bargains thread to get a "heavy duty" 32gb sd card as normal sd cards will fail with constant recording. Also didn't bother with rear cam.
