Could someone give me the correct configuration settings required in order to connect my preferred router to the Eir Modem ( carrying in the FTTH) to my location. ie VLan info—email address eg broadband @ or eir'@ etc —PPoe or Ipoe etc OR ius there some way I can interrogate the eir routewr & get this info ? I havbe been in touch with Eir they have no objection to me installing my router but will not provide any help other that where to plug in the cable. Currently my Eir router is connected to the Eir modem via a short cat6 ethernet cacle in to the lan port of the Eir from the Eir Modem on the wall—info much appreciated

For Eir, leave it on DHCP (IPoE) and set the VLAN tag on the WAN interface to 10. In most cases, that should be all you'll need. You don't need Eir's modem and can plug yours in directly instead.

Sagemcom cs50001 Eir Router, FTTH system. Thanks for all the responses & help earlier in this issue. I replaced the Eir router with a FritxBox 7590AX in an extensive ethernet meshed system —now working perfectly as regards Internet VPN etc. I still have a problem regarding the protocol required to setup the VOIP or Talk that is bundled with my broadband service. Eir will not help. Can anyone out there tell me how to find the protocol and my unique telephone number embedded in the Sagem modem, so I can apply this to my current router . Under no circumstances do I want the Sagem CS50001 connected anywhere in my system. Thanks in advance Michael.

No way around it - Eir will not give the required SIP credentials out to anyone.

Your best bet is to put a 5-port switch into the ONT, then plug your Sagemcom into one port on that switch and your Fritz into another.

The Sagemcom will then simply provide phone while the Fritz will do all internet related connectivity.

Both will get their own WAN IP and neither will have any interaction with one another.

Can i ask did you have to enter any username/password stuff on the replacement or was it simply setup the VLan tagging with Dynamic IP (IPoE)? Thinking of replacing my Eir F3000 with a TP Link AX5400 Archer 75 model as I feel I am not getting the benefit out of FTTH 1gb with the present box. Did you have the EirTV as well and was there any problems with that after changing?
