Fake, it should say Swiss Made under the 6.

You could be right, I've never seen one.

Are you going to buy it?

Not trying to be negative about it and I'm no expert but the name Cartier on the back of the watch doesn't look right for some reason and I thought that feature was something they were very meticulous about.

Having said that I can't zoom in properly on this laptop and my peepers ain't what they used to be.

I believe some of the fake copies of the designer watches are so good these days that they are almost impossible to identify, you can get them with boxes and cards and matching serial numbers.

Certainly looks genuine to me and many of the 1710 has "Swiss" rather than "Swiss made" on the dial. There was a transition during the production run. The case back also looks correct for an 18k version.

As always, a big part of buying any expensive watch, is the seller. You are buying the seller as much as you are the item. I would very much lean towards this being genuine and I hope you get a good deal for it, you've been after one quite a while iirc.

If you're considering dropping the kind of money they go for and have ANY doubts regards authenticity then about face. By virtue that you felt the need for this thread.....

I recently came across a tudor super clone and it was good, I mean really good and had a decorated gen eta2824 in it. I also previously worked on the exact same model but it was genuine, the two were indistinguishable, alarmingly so lol.

It wound like the black bay, looked liked it, the debth of the printing, colour of the dial, crystal, fit finish, execution and colour of the case and back, the bracelet and SEL fit, the clasp were indistinguishable.

There are, 100% without a doubt high quality fakes that are passing hands as genuine out there.

It is an auctioneer who has the watch, however they came back to me with the size and its the small whereas I really want the medium as I have 7.5 " wrist and think the bigger would look better. Its an after sale so just under €4000 price including all fees. They came back to say they were satisfied with the watch been genuine and in the extremely unlikelihood of it not they would sort things out.

Thanks so much to everyone for your time. My search continues

I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the pictures of the backs of the watch for sale and the picture you posted.

the watch is perfectly fine and not a fake at all, it doesn’t matter now as it’s the small and only suitable for ladies tbh but when buying from an auction house then a new strap and a service needs to be factored into the cost so it’s another €1200 to €1400

Dealers on eBay would be the smarter option in my opinion

    The internet isn’t for everyone
