Radiator issue

Need to get a new gas boiler fitted and so system will be drained down .

I remember having an issue bleeding the vent as the screw threads or other is faulty and the insert goes into the tops of the rads as it is a twin.

Can you get replacement vent screws or they all come in different sizes.?

Yes was looking at them yesterday but unsure if all the same size or pitch.

Look at it this way. Wherever the bleed valve is fitted you can also fit a radiator valve or pipe. You could have the flow into the bottom of the rad and the return out of the top (if I've got that the right way around?). So those bleed valve fittings are standard 1/2 inch BSP or more rarely 3/4 inch.

Both rads as its a twin have inlet and exit pipes on the lower end only.

The top is only a tiny threaded screw into the main rad. Bit like the point of a pencil and square head for the key to remove/vent.

Other rads in house have bigger items on top and hopefully they are okay.
