Hopefully doing some game shooting soon, just wondering what gear you would say I need to get. Budget is not the best at the minute just €300 to spend.

    Jacket

    Vest

    Trousers

    Wellies

    What else do I need?

I think that you have most things covered( pun intended). I would be steering away from polycotton, though. You are bound to get wet even when you are walking in high grass, through ditches etc and the polycotton will be like a sponge.

When you have a few quid I would invest in "waterproof" ( believe me none of them are actually waterproof -had them all, Deerhunter, Seeland, even Harkila) gear and maybe "silent" fabric.

You will probably get away with no vest if you have plenty of pockets in the jacket and trousers.

Personally, I think a good pair or boots and gaiters are better/more comfortable than wellies.

Thats what i did for basics , suited and booted for about 250 euro all "waterproof" etc ..great price on boots as they are brand new . To be fair when your starting out the price of some of the brand name hunting clothes is a shock . Sure i will invest in expensive stuff over time but basic stuff i got works fine for me .

If youre hunting rough ground with plenty of brambles etc, wax leggings are a must. You'll be torn to shreds otherwise

I would advocate visiting your nearest army/navy surplus store, see what they have to offer. Try out a number of inexpensive items and allow your experience to inform your purchases. Once you have gained some experience, you'll spend your hard earned cash efficiently and effectively.
