    Have gas boiler

Have wood stove. Considering swapping for water heater type stove

Id imagine I have a manual switch to let stove heat the rads and not the gas boiler

Is this idea prone to issues (best left as is) or a no brainer?

You could potentially do it, but it’s not usually a great idea, or worth the hassle.

Boiler stoves take a lot more fuel, require careful plumbing to integrate, and will limit your control options.

I would say stick to the room heater.

I have that system, it took me ten years of fiddling with it after installation to get it right but I would not be without it, it’s a Stanley Erin Boiler stove, it heats water and rads, gas boiler is used only in very cold weather to give rads a boost,

Rads never get the same heat using it as the gas boiler can achieve.

top tip / only get it fitted if your guys have experience with them.
