    hi all

newbie starting out as got injured running !
I need sumthing too keep me out of trouble.

I’m looking at buying a used bike for about €500 (low budget but might get sumthing ok).

There is a couple on adverts which caught my eye,1 is a Scott speedester & the other is a trek domain.

Any opinion on either bike ?
or any other bike within that price range ?

    Thanks

maybe throw up a link to the bikes you are looking at, along with your height.

where do you intend cycling? road or eg canal paths

Trek looks great. Looks like only last year's model. At that money just buy it and get going. No point over thinking it.

Both look like good options for the money.
Personally, I’d go for the Scott as I’d prefer to keep away from the mechanical disc brakes on the Trek.
Also, looks like a Tiagra groupset on the Scott which is a couple of steps up from the Claris on the Trek.
But as starter bikes, both have their merits and would be solid 👍

Buy the Trek for 500 now and sell it in the spring for 500, either upgrading or getting out of the lifestyle.

    Literally no loss.
