Question about checking in at the airport

    Hi 👋

I’m travelling tomorrow: Valencia - Paris - Cincinnati with Air France (Irish and resident in Spain).

I’m only taking a 10KG overhead bag so I checked in online and I’ve already got my boarding passes.

However, when I travelled to Las Vegas last March I went to the counter instead. When I was there I had to show my accommodation etc etc in order to check in.

My question is, could that create an issue as they haven’t checked my details? I’ve completed everything that was required of me in the app (contact details, hotel address etc) but just wondering if I should go to the counter anyway?

They may request an additional documents check which is normally done at the gate. Go to check in counter and ask?

You will have to go through immigration and customs in Cincinnati. Only Ireland and a few other countries have US preclearance.

Do you have your Esta completed and approved?

Airlines also can get fined if someone is refused entry for a reason the airline could have checked, so that may have been the previous reason for being asked about accommodation

Yep have my ESTA (got it last September). When check in opened earlier this morning, I couldn’t check in through the app until I completed the usual personal & accommodation questions. Once done, I was checked in and got my passes. But, maybe it’s no harm to go to the counter anyway in case they need to see my ESTA? 6am flight tomorrow so I’ll be there about 4

yep absolutely. I was just thinking of my previous trip in March to Las Vegas where I also had hand luggage but didn’t check in until I got to the airport which is where I was also asked about accommodation etc etc
