Bumper Paint Scratch DIY Repair

Is it easy enough to fix these scratches?

I'm not really pushed to get a professional repair.

Simple with a touch up pen.

Heat the bumper, although you might not have to on a warm day as

black with absorb sunlight real well. Touch in the scratches with the touch

up pen. Leave it to dry and give it a good polish. Make sure the bumper is

washed clean and dry before doing any of this.

Yes, though I wasn't aware it was noticeable, you've got a good eye.

The bumper was actually knocked out of its clip mountings and had a load of paint from the offending car when I got back to it in the car park.

Luckily I was able to reinsert the clip without issue, and some rubbing compound and elbow grease got rid of the paint. I did photograph the original condition, but I haven't been able to get CCTV from the car park controller so I think recovery from the animal responsible is a dead end.

I know it's a bit of a rough and ready fix so far. Should I polish it or apply something over the area?

You will probably get rid of the sanding marks with polish. If it was me I would get a paint touch up pen and use a toothpick to fill in the areas with missing paint and then use polish on the whole area, by hand won't do it though you will need a polishing machine

Perhaps look for a touch up pen from below.

With the bit that you have sanded, it will have to be polished out.
