Gilera over heating

    Recently got a gilera runner 180cc,starts very strong,dous not cut out,no problem,but after few mins,there like bubbles in the coolant,and temp goes high,if i loosen,they come out,could this be thermostat ? No white smoke frm exhaust or signs of water m8xn with oil yet
