Using 4G in Northern Ireland

Hi all,

Does anyone know if mobile data with 3 network can be used for WiFi in Northern Ireland?

Does anything need adjusting in phone settings to get 4G in NI? I have a Samsung A10.

Back in 2022 , EU roaming allowances were working in UK

When I switch on Data Roaming I am given the following options;

1. Disable
2. National Roaming Only
3. All Networks

Which option do I select here?

"All networks" if you want it to work outside Irl.
This what i have ON and never bother to change while travel.
If/when outside EU , i just turn OFF "mobile data".

Looking at their website, it's as clear as mud whether you've free roaming in Northern Ireland and the UK or not.

As far i can see its still covered under EU roaming for data, allowance differ by plan you're on

Last time i landed in Spain (May2024) message from three stated:

From Three: Welcome to Spain. You can use your monthly allowance for calls, texts and 37GB of data in the UK and EU. Once reached you will be charged 5.08c + 34.56c/min for voice calls, 17.28c for texts and 0.19c per MB.

You have free roaming in uk until your roaming data allowance is used up usually 30gb per month, and you can use your hotspot with no issues.

You have your answer then.
just in case, be aware that your allowance does not start at the time you start roaming, but at certain day per month, likely aligned with billing turn-over.
