Stansted Airport

Looking at flying from Shannon to Pisa in March. One option is to fly from Shannon to Stansted and then onto Pisa. All flights with Ryanair so understand they would be standalone flights vs a package

Morning flight from Shannon gets into Stansted at 07:25 per the schedule. Flight leaving Stansted is at 11:35. So ~4hrs between the flights.

I'm assuming I would need to go through the processes (passport etc..) as though I am leaving the airport and then go back through departures?

I have no idea what the experience for Irish passport holders is in Stansted, has Brexit changed anything?

Any thoughts if the ~4hr window would be enough to be enough to get off one flight and then be ready to board another one?

4 hours will be loads of time.

You will have to leave airside and go back in through security.

is the potential saving worth the hassle? It's a very long day for what would normally be a 2.5 hour flight.

Thanks for getting back to me. Is your feedback based on your recent experience?

I'm looking at other options alright but nothing compelling jumping out at me..

4 hours will be loads of time and leave you hanging around Stansted.

Unless you wanted to drive to Dublin or Cork and go direct.

    I'm sure you've looked at

    Shannon→Manchester→Pisa

    or

    Shannon→Birmingham→Pisa

They might be better timing options/prices?

just make sure when you get through security that your departure gates doesnt involve using the rail shuttle. It is very easy and straight forward and only takes a few minutes to get to those gates but could make a difference if youre late

Thanks, I have had a look at them alright. Flights don't match up between the different airports but thanks for the suggestions

Can be done alright, but I'd be looking at getting the Bus to Dublin Airport and flying from there. Depending on flight times obviously. If its late to and from Dublin it isn't much good.
