Hi, I'm looking for a carer one or two hours in the week, Limerick area (Corbally/Westbury).

Flexible time, morning or afternoon, ideally someone living locally.

Any recommendations as to where to get the best 'fit' for someone with early stage dementia?

I tried mindme.ie but it has got very bad reviews.

Very light duties, want someone empathetic and experience in elderly care.

    TIA.

you'll have to get your occupational therapist to visit and assess and he/she will get in touch with the carers companies in limerick. They'll visit and make their own assessment and get the ball rolling for you.

    They don't do housework.

    Best of luck

Agree with that. The HSE carer system is excellent but you must get things going yourself and get the person assessed. We used mindme and found excellent carer too. You will find it difficult to get a private carer for those small hours. HSE is your first stop. They do meal prep, medication reminder etc and do light stuff like filling dishwasher etc but don’t do cleaning tasks. Well done for taking the step in what is not an easy road. Dementia is awful for those watching it.
