Connecting two Vodafone Gigaboxes

I've had a look around on here and online and haven't been able to get a clear answer on this - probably due to my own lack of experience with this sort of thing.

I've recently moved my home office from downstairs beside my Vodafone Gigabox up into the attic. The WiFi is not great at this distance. I have a CAT6 cable run from the sitting room up to the attic. I also have a spare Vodafone Gigabox.

I'm wondering if I could just connect the spare Gigabox to the main one downstairs to use as an access point?

Managed to get it working - turned off DHCP, assigned a random IP to the second Gigabox and connected via LAN cable.

Only thing is it's a separate WiFi network. Ideally, I'd like to use the same WiFi across both if that's possible.

Also in same situation where I don't have a network cable going to the second router. Any way that I can configure it as a wifi extender?

Same for me. I would prefer to simply use it as a WiFi extender, I have assigned it a different I.P. address to the main router, turned off the DHCP, changed the SSID and password to match the router but that does not seem to work. Any suggestions?
