small plywood piece for mounting

I want to mount a bunch of hooks on a wall, but the wall is only plasterboard.

I was thinking to use a piece of plywood, 1mx1m and screw that to the wall with 4/6/8 fixings, then I can screw a bunch of smaller hooks to it.

Where can I get a piece of 18mm plywood in roughly that size, Dublin area?

All the places that sell sheets have pretty large sizes.

Woodworkers may be an option.

Woodworkers do an off-cut bin, might suit.

Woodies sell small sheets - but they cost as much as a full sheet.

Most DIY's will have 4x4ft, I/2 boards €15-20. depending on thickness.

Before cutting ply locate the wall studs first and then cut accordingly. Ensure that all fixings are as close as possible to centre of studs. The no. of fixings required will depend on the max load expected. For example a full length woolen over coat can double in weight when wet😊
