    Hi all,

Who currently insures classics, at a reasonable cost, with agreed value of c. 200k, and approx 500 miles a year, tops.

Abi Autoline came back with 1400 euro, 1500 mile limit.

Campions wont quote, said they only do cars under 20k.

Carole Nash wont quote, said they only do cars under 60k.

FBD wont quote, only do cars under 60k.

Who else should I try, Any advice appreciated.

1400 euro sounds cheap for such a valuable car.

Try Chubb - they only do over €30k

Yes it may be a bit difficult, I recall even some garage policies would only insure you to dive cars upto 80K if I remember correctly. Being nosey, what type of car is it to be over 200K?. Something Italian, British or even German?

Are there insurers out there who will do agreed value? Also how do they come to the agreed value calculation?

Yes I recall ringing around for quotes and that's what they told me. I think it's 'private' insurance, whatever that means.

This topic has been covered here recently, @antodeco think you need a report from an assessor, auction house or the make club.

OP if you're in/near Dublin the supercar show is on today in Dundrum, half the cars there will be in that price bracket, you might have a chat with the owners if you can see them around

Chubb will sell you a multi car policy that will cover >200k.

I am unsure about single vehicle though.

You don't need any of that with Chubb - you tell them the value, once the policy is issued then the value you've provided is what they accept and its what gets paid out for a total loss event. I'd imagine if you provided something outlandish they might query it.

Chubb here for agreed value on my 2003 Porsche, no issues. Excellent cover.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
