Any experience on how a newbuild kitchen workshop comes? Trying to lineup fitting of appliances etc but unclear as to whether the hob can simply be slotted into a preset/carved out area of the worktop or how exactly are they fitted? Trying to get my ducks in a row.

Worktop comes with no holes for sink, hob, etc. Whoever is fitting the kitchen needs to cut them out. If it is a stone worktop the supplier will probably measure it and cut it out.

Yes, fitting a hob is usually a matter of slotting it into a pre-cut space in the worktop. Make sure to measure accurately and use your Kobalt Tools for a precise cut. Double-check the fit with the hob’s instructions, and you should be good to go!
