I applied for this recently and have been placed on the reserve panel with an order of merit of 38. Interviews seem to just be starting for candidates placed up to an order of merit of 15. Does anyone know from experience how likely it is to be called for interview in the future if put into the reserve batch, or should I expect to be too far down the list to realistically ever be called to interview?

Feeling a bit down about it and hard to know how decent an order of merit of 38 is in a competition like this. Good luck to those interviewing!

Hi @Runaways1, I was number 43, and got called for interview for a weeks from now. I presume you've been looked after since you've finished higher than me!

Its a very mysterious competition based on past ones which didn't do reserve panels pre interview. Open AP opening today may draw down people before this compdepending on whether a second round interview occurs or not. First 30, have yet to hear back results of the first round which ended on the 17th.

You're right @Sweeps McKenzie I got a call to come for interview too. Good luck for yours if you haven't had it yet!

@Barbarian98 that's fair, and hope your interview went well. Am I right in thinking it's just one interview? I understand it's competency based questions, but I assume to also be quizzed on economic theory a bit.

Interviews for first Batch was one round all right.

Specialist knowledge seemed varied from the few I've spoke to on the matter. Mine wasn't overly economic theory based. Overarching theme seemed to be more data interpretation/ techniques.

@Barbarian98, am I right in thinking that you STILL haven't received results of your interview on the 17th of last month?

Update on this - I didn't get good news! No matter, it's probably because I did a poor interview. The panel themselves were very nice and asked straightforward and predictable questions. Good luck to anyone else being interviewed, and congratulations to anyone who has been successful.
