Boiling water tap - burns

Just wondering if this is a problem for anyone else

This morning i washed my hands in the kitchen sink and gave myself a burn. My wife had used the boiling water tap to make tea and some of the boiling water had stayed in the tap and came out when i turned on the mixer.

This is happening a lot lately and i don't really remember it happening too much before. Its an EWT tap that we have 4 years. wondering if this is normal or if i should expect the tap to instantly change temperature. Not even sure how it would do this.
