Hi hopefully someone can help. Plumber just left yesterday after installing new boiler, rads and water tank. Boiler wont fire up today and error code says low pressure. He has removed the old filling loop and left it as pictured so any ideas how I fill the system please?

Get him back. He can't just wash his hands of it. Don't touch it or even follow his instructions on what to do. He can't sign off on this install until all working as it should.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Did you not ring him to come back and sort it?

It was working when he left so not sure what happened since

Dont have a number for the plumber as the main contractor supplied him. Not much hope of getting them back out this evening I reckon! Just presumed it would be an easy fix to repressurise the system

All tradesmen make mistakes. I've drilled into electric cable or water pipes a few times. These things happen & aren't the tradesmans fault. Having said that he has to rectify the issue.

If it can't hold pressure then there could be a small leak or something like that. Probably not a big deal but he has to come back to rectify the issue. Don't try fix it yourself. You could make it worse & void any warranty

I'm assuming it's a gas boiler so they must provide you with a RGI certificate for replacing the boiler. It's important to get this.

Will try get a hold of someone tomorrow morning to come back out and sort it. I presume you need a small length of flexible hose to connect up the filling loop

Found this in behind the tank, happy days!

I connected up that filling loop hose and topped up the system till the pressure showed 1.0. seems to have sorted it. Plumber wouldn't answer his phone

If you have to keep topping it up then there is a leak that needs resolving. Continuously topping up puts too much fresh water in the system. This can rust the rads from the inside out.

If pressure keeps dropping get the builder out

I get that but it worked when the installer was there so it was pressurised then. The next day it had no pressure. The water went somewhere. Looks like a leak somewhere

Does not matter, I had a brand new system installed, completely new pipe work, was signed off and after having to top it up myself 3 times in 24 hours I assumed a leak, and low and behold there was a bad one, carpenter who put my floor boards back down smacked a nail straight through a pipe and no one knew.

Only for me noticing the pressure dropping in the boiler I searched for any signs of a leak and spotted a tiny little stain on the ceiling, saved ourselves huge money noticing it early but plumber had signed off on the system even though the nail would have been put through said pipe over a month before it was signed off
