I have an older relative who is thinking of moving house and buying up in Ard Rua, on Quarry Road in Gracedieu.

Anyone who is living up there or familiar with the area I have to ask what the area like in general is there many shops or supermarkets nearby? is it an area where most people know each other or do people mostly keep to themselves? and lastly is it a quiet area in terms of would there be any anti social behavior or undesirable's living near? overall are you happy you bought there any regrets?

was there a few months ago, houses are very nice, but probably very expensive, which should suit a more desirable demographic, definitely somewhere where id be happy for older relatives to live, but maybe others have other opinions….

area is fairly poor on amenities though, theyd be driving to the shops a lot, but the greenway is on the door step, so….

Bus stops on Gracedieu Road, 500M up around the corner. Shops: HyperCentre 20 minute walk, Lidl Carrickpherish(when it's built) 20 minute walk.

A lot of those houses are 3 stories, the ones on the right as you come in the entrance, the kitchen/Living room is on the first floor, across from those, they have a basement with bedrooms. It might be something to bear in mind if someone is at an advanced age.
