Garage conversion

    Hi all,

we are considering getting our garage converted to add more space to our very small kitchen. I have contacted a couple of builders so far none have committed to calling out to look at it for me. I’m still contacting them as we speak to get someone out to advise.

question is, has anyone got this done recently and is it worth doing? We were initially considering an extension and got prices for the same but they came in at prices we just couldn’t afford. After a lot of consideration we felt it wasn’t worth it and maybe look at using the garage as existing space.

the problem is we already have an extension over the garage, the ceiling is concrete and it very low. There is a loft above it and can see the wooden beams from the 2nd floor above. Wpuld it be possible to chase that solid ceiling to increase the height? Also has anyone got the garage converted recently and rough cost for same:

    thanks

It sounds like Ducon slabs are holding up your extension over the garage, I wouldn't be removing any concrete from underneath a building if I was you.
