What's it like living in Boroimhe Swords?

I'm considering buying an apartment here and they seem to offer good value. There are a few on Daft with prices ranging between €275K - €300K for 2-bedroom apartments.

My pain concern is with the noise. There's house built above the apartment and I don't want to hear even thing they do.

You are also very close to airport. Planes taking off every 3 minutes from early morning to late night. Early morning is plane rush hour. Even with double glazing etc you will hear them. Actual noise depends on wind direction and time of year and you may get used to it or not. Good bus services to city centre, more expensive one via tunnel but no train. Traffic can be bad at peak times and on Saturdays with airside shopping centre junction not moving.

I didn't think about the planes, good point. I currently live in a flight path and beside a dart line so I'm not sure that would bother me.

I'm nearby and while the planes can be loud when the wind is from the South, you get used to it quickly enough

I'd say you'll get more noise from above you, although I think the bedrooms are upstairs. So as long as they aren't pushin the cushions like JD Vance you shouldn't hear anything too outrageous

There's most of the conveniences nearby in the shopping centre, the school in river valley is very good and it's about a 30 mins walk to swords (or stumble home from the pub)

There's a green with a playground on the estate, rivery valley park nearby which is decent enough

Transport links to Dublin are pretty good, Swords Express bus is the fastest but obviously more expensive.

You can also cycle to Dublin past the airport. The route is a bit crap in places, like every cycling route in Dublin but it's probably the easiest way to commute to the city if needed

Late to this but if you're still considering:

I spent the last few years renting in Boroimhe and have just moved out, the planes are noticeable with the windows open but I didn't find them much of a disturbance, certainly not as loud as they are in other parts of Swords.

Can't speak on the ground floor homes as we were in a duplex above but our downstairs neighbours never mentioned noise from us.

One thing to note is that our designated wheelie bin storage was below the exterior stairs to our front door…which also happens to be right outside the bedroom windows of the ground floor home. We tried to keep the brown/black bins as far from the windows as possible but the smell/flies are still very close.

The location itself is really handy, bus stops for the 41c and Swords Express are right outside. There's a small shopping complex with a SuperValu, pharmacy, post office, creche, and some takeaways between the estates. Within walking distance of the Pavilions, Airside, and the Tesco out by Holywell.

The bins are a bit of an eyesore I have to say, some of the duplexes seem to have them piled up out the front

I get that's the reality but you'd think the residents would consider communal bins as an alternative
