Hello. Just wondering if it is possible to do online banking without a smartphone on the BOI website?

You can use a PC or a tablet which just uses a Wi-Fi connection (no SIM) but I'm pretty sure that in order to set it up, you will need to receive a code via SMS on a mobile phone. And if you want to do stuff like adding a new payee, you will need to confirm it by entering a code that they send to your phone via SMS.

You asked if you can do online banking 'without a smartphone'. Any old mobile phone is capable of receiving SMS messages so, to answer that precise question, the answer is 'yes'. If you mean without any kind of a mobile phone, the answer is that you can login on a PC or a non-network (Wi-Fi only) tablet but you will be limited in the functions you can use.

Don’t they propose 2fa with a small device they send you instead of using your mobile phone?

    Edit: they do

Had one of those gadgets years ago, think the manufacturer was Racal. Wasn't aware that it's still an option.
